AdBlue

AdBlue is an additive that is used in the aftertreatment system of diesel vehicles to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions into the atmosphere. It is a special liquid consisting of 32.5% high purity urea and 67.5% distilled water.

Exhaust gas cleaning is a process in which nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are formed during the combustion of fuel in an engine, are converted into more harmless substances - nitrogen and water. This purification system uses AdBlue, which is dosed into the system and interacts with the catalyst to convert NOx into harmless exhaust gases.

If your vehicle is equipped with an after-treatment system that uses AdBlue, then you will need to periodically add this fluid to a separate tank. The recommended amount depends on the specific car model and can be found in the owner's manual. If the AdBlue level in the tank drops below a certain level, the vehicle may go into reduced power mode.

At our Garage55 car service, we provide exhaust gas treatment system diagnostic and repair services, including checking the level and adding AdBlue.
