Oil change
Changing the engine oil is one of the most important aspects of extending the life of the engine. The parts and mechanisms of piston engines and rotary internal combustion engines constantly interact (work) with each other through friction. Therefore, a special lubricant - engine oil - must be used to prevent wear of friction components.
Why change the oil in the engine?
During operation, the lubricating properties of engine oil deteriorate:
viscosity changes;
the concentration of foreign bodies that have an abrasive effect on engine parts increases;
the lubricating properties of the oil deteriorate.
Oil change intervals are determined by the vehicle manufacturer and indicated in the technical documentation. In most cases, under normal operating conditions, the replacement interval is between 10,000 and 15,000 km, but at least once a year.
In severe operating conditions, change the oil more often than the indicated intervals:
long-term operation of the engine at idle speed;
using the vehicle in dusty, sandy conditions, on roads with salt and other anti-icing agents;
working on unpaved roads;
working in a dense urban cycle more than 50% of the time;
regular trailer towing;
taxi or patrol cars.
